IA is a leading full-service talent agency based in Santa Monica representing top-tier talent across film, television, digital media, and branding. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized General Accountant to join our team.
The General Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting reporting activities for the agency. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly general ledger close.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Review and process talent payments, commissions, and client-related disbursements.
• Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Collaborate with talent representatives, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate financial documentation.
• Assist in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Skills required for the position are but not limited to:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in entertainment, media, or talent agency environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Discretion in handling sensitive financial and client information.
• Experience working with client trust accounts or talent commission structures.
• Familiarity with union regulations (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA) and industry-specific billing standards.
This position is not remote, they will report directly to the Head of the Accounting Department and must be comfortable as a team player with fellow team members.
Salary/Benefits
$85,000.00
- 95,000.00
per year
